I recently had the opportunity to speak at an Developers conference in London. It was my first experience speaking at that level and in the days leading to the conference, I was quite apprehensive knowing that I was speaking on the same platform with seasoned conference speakers. I kept looking at my notes and slides and wondering if I had done enough. On the day of the conference, I prayed, laid it before the Lord and set out for the venue. Because I was the 4th speaker, I didn't get to speak until noon. The speakers before me were quite impressive which added more pressure on me to present well.By the time I was introduced, I had lost all the anxiety. God gave the ability to speak with boldness and my talk was rated as one of the most engaging laced...

When driving on UK motorways, it is not uncommon to see billboards with warnings like "Tiredness kills. Take a 15 minute break every 2 hours" or "Tiredness kills. Make time for a break". Tiredness affects many of us on a regular basis. It is caused by constant physical and mental stress which are conscious as well as unconscious. Medical professionals tell us that fatigue is the feeling of being tired and can be caused by stress, anxiety, illness, inadequate sleep, excessive workload among many other factors.I recently struggled with feelings of being tired and I could not readily explain why. I knew that I was dealing with a number of issues requiring my attention but I thought I had them covered but it seemed that unconsciously...

What do you do when an opportunity comes calling? Do you seize the moment and take advantage of the opportunity or do you see the opportunity as a potential danger that should be avoided at all costs? The Cambridge dictionary defined opportunity as, an occasion or situation that makes it possible to do something that you want to do or have to do, or the possibility of doing something. Every opportunity is a chance to do something based on some knowledge or circumstance that provides us with the chance to do it. It is often associated with positive things however, people can use opportunities in negative ways especially when taking advantage of other people. Some people for instance use every opportunity they can get to talk. They are not bad...

I woke up this morning with a deep sense of gratitude. It was not triggered by something great that happened to me. It was just one of those times when you just know that you have been blessed and expressions of gratitude just bubble up from within you.Why is it so important to be grateful? As a father, I often give things to my children without their asking for it. It could be something as simple as stopping on the way home from work to buy them Pizza or taking them out to the movies on a weekend. It gives me a sense of joy seeing their faces light up and afterwards, when they say, ‘thank you dad!’, I know they really appreciated what I did. If as human beings we respond positively to gratitude, how much more does our Heavenly Father respond to the gratitude of His ch...

Rejection is not something anybody likes. No one wants to feel rejected especially by the people close to you or when you present something that is precious to you and it is rejected.I recently applied to have two of my websites featured on a website that listed websites developed with a certain technology. One of them was the Biblepraise website and the site Author’s reason was that it was a religious website and he didn’t wanted none of that. The second website was simply in the website owner’s eyes, not ‘attractive’ enough. My immediate reaction was disappointment and then I shared my experience with some friends who are in a tech group with me and we laughed it off and I felt a lot better. To me, it did not matter after all, it...

For centuries, various Philosophers have studied and postulated theories about human behaviour. Thomas Hobbes, a 17th century Philosopher said, “People only do the right thing because they fear being punished if they get caught”.Recent studies have attempted to debunk this research by trying to prove that people tend to be less selfish when they cooperate but it was also established that people tend to cooperate if they know that they would benefit in some way fom such cooperation. This brings us to the question, “Did Jesus have to die?” I pondered over this question for a while and realised that it could not be answered unless we shift our focus to the question, “Why did Jesus have to die?”In the John 15:13 Jesus said, ‘Greater love...
