People often wonder why a woman, after going through the long period of pregnancy, the painful and complicated process of childbirth and the often-times post-natal health challenges, would take the subject of that process and dump it somewhere either to die or to for someone else to find.

Some of these children survive and some don’t. I once visited an orphanage called, ‘The Little Saints Orphanage’ here in Lagos. I left the place wondering how these beautiful children could have been given such a cruel and hostile welcome to this world of ours. It is quite a paradox that while some have been praying and trusting God for a child for so many years, there are others everyday giving birth to unwanted children.

‘Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not...

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding:
in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight."
Proverbs 3: 5-6 (NIV)

In many forms of study, the teachers will challenge and motivate their students to their greatest levels of understanding and achievement.  Part of the process usually includes methods that make the student aware of his own limits and weaknesses.  When the learner has done all he can do with his own abili...

The media are at it again. The hype has been on for several days now as Valentine’s Day draws close. I marvel at the rate of popularity for the celebration of Valentine’s Day around the world. Some of those who celebrate this day do not even know who St. Valentine was or what the day is all about. All they know is that it is a day set apart for lovers. That information, is good enough for them.

I am not writing to criticize the celebration of Valentine’s day, rather I am only using this opportunity to introduce the greatest lover of all times. He is introduced in the Bible, by none other than the one who should know, Jesus Christ our Lord.  Quoting the Lord in John 3:16, which is a very popular verse by the way, “God so loved the world tha...

In 2000, I began to share my thoughts on my personal study of the Bible, with a few friends numbering about 10, through email.  As I shared with these few friends of mine, they in turn sent my emails to others, who requested that i add them to my email list. No long after I started, my list grew to 20, then 50. At this point, it was no longer convenient to send to all those email addresses at once. I began to start thinking of a newsletter engine which would enable me to send my thoughts out at once.

During this period, I took interest in website development. I met a friend online, Pastor Pau lWallace, who encouraged me to create a website for Biblepraise and actually suggested the name. He sponsored the domain registration and hosting of the Biblepraise Website for 2 years. At...

When the Haiti earthquake hit, it was virtually impossible for rescue operations to commence immediately. This was because the destruction was of a massive scale, affecting all forms of infrastructure. Initially all we heard and saw was the dead littered all over the place. It looked as if God had forsaken the people.

Days later, good news began to emerge from the bad. We began to hear news of people who were literally dug out of collapsed buildings with bare hands and small tools. How else would you be able to explain the rescue of a 15-day old baby who spent half her lifetime under a collapsed building? Or a 70-year old woman dragged out from under the rubble after being trapped for one week? Or the young girl who was rescued after 11 days of being buried alive under stone and concret...

It was a day like any other day. People had gone about their businesses and were winding down the activities of the day. Some were already planning what they would do at nightfall and probably the next day.

Suddenly, there was a massive shaking. Many of them didn’t know what it was because they had never experienced anything like that since they were born. Some were rooted in one place in fear, not knowing where to run to. The world later heard of the massive earthquake that hit Haiti, with a magnitude of  7.0.
I am not sure I have seen such level of devastation in my life. The scenes which greeted many users on major news networks were not pretty at all. To make matters worse, there was no immediate access to rescue operations. This I believe led to the very high number of...
